New Members Intake Process
 
Aspirants
 
Aspirants interested in becoming a member of the Theta Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. must complete the following steps:

1. Attend a TIL Informational. Times and locations to be announced.
2. Request an application packet from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity National Headquarters (www.alphaphialpha.net)
3. Provide proof that you are a registered voter.
4. Receive three (3) recommendation letters from active brothers (two must be members of Theta Iota Lambda).
5. Pay national membership fees - $830 (money order or certified check).
6. Pay chapter membership dues - $150 (money order or certified check).
7. Attend Leadership & Membership Weekends
8. Participate in chapter community service projects and fund raising events.
9. Successfully complete an Alpha History and TIL Chapter Protocol Test.

 TIL Chapter Membership (Initiated Brothers)

 

Inactive Alphas - Seeking Reactivation

 

Theta Iota Lambda encourages inactive brothers to "come back to the fold". Requirements for active brothers are:

1. Promote the fraternity in the Greater Springfield/Hartford Area.
2. Be "fraternal" to chapter brothers
3. Pay national dues - $150 per year (due by October Meeting)
4. Pay chapter dues: $150 per year
5. Attend regularly scheduled meetings (1st Saturday of the month Locations Vary Members Host)
6. Serve on a minimum of one (1) committee each year (recommended).

 Theta Iota Lambda Foundation Membership


Inactive Alphas - Seeking To Support  Alpha

 

Brother's in the Greater Springfield/Hartford area who is not able to meet Chapter Membership requirements but love ALPHA and would like to support TIL in its efforts to serve our community and "Hold Alpha High", please consider TIL  Foundation Membership:

1. Are invited to participate in all chapter fund raising events and community service programs.
2. Make an annual $100 tax deductible contribution to our TIL Educational Foundation (503c) which provides scholarships to deserving youth from the Greater Springfield/Hartford area.
3. Receive minutes from monthly meetings.
4. Can not hold chapter positions or vote at chapter meetings.
